Remedy Therapy Center for Eating Disorders offers a comprehensive IOP program in  Stuart, Florida for adult women with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, and co-occurring conditions.

Our IOP Program at a Glance

Remedy Therapy Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program offers a flexible yet clinically structured level of care for adult women stepping down from PHP or seeking more support than traditional outpatient therapy provides. Our IOP program features individual therapy, nutritional counseling, psychiatric oversight, evidence-based group programming, and ongoing medical monitoring. Designed to support daily life while maintaining the intensity of care that eating disorder recovery requires.

About What is Intensive Outpatient?

An Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured level of care that provides therapeutic and medical support while allowing clients to live at home and maintain daily responsibilities. Clients attend our program multiple days per week, participating in group therapy, individual appointments, and supervised meals. IOP is designed as a step-down from PHP and a step above standard outpatient care, providing the clinical intensity needed to sustain recovery while building real-world skills and independence.

Importance Importance of Intensive Outpatient

An IOP stay at Remedy Therapy Center is a critical step in the continuum of care for women moving toward greater independence in their recovery:

CONTINUED CLINICAL SUPPORT:

Our licensed clinical team provides consistent therapy, nutritional counseling, and psychiatric oversight throughout IOP. Clients maintain access to the same multidisciplinary team that supported them in higher levels of care, ensuring continuity and stability in treatment.

REAL-WORLD INTEGRATION:

IOP is where recovery skills meet daily life. Clients practice the tools they have learned in a real-world context, with clinical support to process challenges, setbacks, and progress as they arise.

EVIDENCE-BASED GROUP THERAPY:

Group sessions continue the evidence-based curriculum from PHP, including DBT skills, ACT, mindfulness-based CBT, body image restoration, and nutrition psychoeducation. Peer connection and shared accountability remain central to the IOP program experience.

MEDICAL AWARENESS:

While IOP does not require on-site nursing, our medical team remains involved in monitoring overall health, coordinating with outside providers, and ensuring any signs of instability are addressed promptly.

Peer Support:

Recovery is strengthened through connection. Our IOP program brings together adult women facing similar challenges in a supportive, structured setting where they can build community, share experiences, and feel less alone in their recovery. Through group therapy, meal support, and therapeutic activities, clients receive encouragement, accountability, and peer support while continuing to apply the clinical tools they are learning in treatment.

TRANSITION TO INDEPENDENT LIVING:

IOP is designed to build confidence and self-sufficiency. Our team actively works alongside clients on aftercare planning, outpatient therapy connections, and long-term relapse prevention strategies from day one.

IOP FAQs About Our IOP Program

An IOP program at Remedy Therapy Center is an important step for individuals ready to continue their recovery with clinical support while rebuilding their daily life

How long does our IOP program last?

IOP length depends on individual clinical progress and needs. Most clients participate for several weeks to a few months. Our team reviews treatment plans regularly to ensure the level of care continues to match each client’s goals and recovery trajectory.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL IOP SCHEDULE LOOK LIKE?

IOP sessions take place multiple days per week, with a combination of individual therapy, registered dietitian sessions, psychiatric follow-up, and evidence-based group programming. The schedule is designed to provide consistent clinical engagement while allowing clients to maintain daily life, work, or school responsibilities.

Will I have medical monitoring during treatment?

Yes. Eating disorders can affect the body in ways that are not always immediately visible. Throughout our IOP, your treatment team monitors your physical health, coordinates with outside medical providers, and ensures that any signs of instability are identified and addressed quickly. Your safety is a priority at every level of care.

How do I know if Remedy is the right fit?

Start with a conversation and a clinical assessment. The goal is to understand what is happening, what level of care is appropriate, and whether the program matches the client’s needs.

WHAT THERAPIES ARE USED IN IOP FOR EATING DISORDERS?

Our IOP curriculum draws from the same six-week rotating evidence-based model used in PHP, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR-informed trauma therapy, body image restoration, and nutrition psychoeducation. Facilitators include licensed therapists, registered dietitians, and psychiatric providers.

WHAT IF I HAVE CO-OCCURRING ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, OR TRAUMA?

Our IOP includes specialized clinical support for co-occurring mood disorders, trauma, substance use, and personality disorders. We treat the full picture because addressing only the eating disorder without the underlying factors does not produce lasting recovery.

Can my family or partner be involved?

They can be. Family involvement may include family therapy and education so loved ones know how to support recovery without slipping into control, conflict, or avoidance.

Remedy has saved my life!!! Truly I mean that with all my heart. I came in broken I had just lost my best friend to suicide and my eating disorder got out of hand. As once told to me the eating disorder voice was way louder than my recovery voice. Since being here I have gained hope back and have a purpose to actually live, something I lost a long time ago and thought I’d never get back. I accept myself as is and now view food not as “healthy or unhealthy” but as food….food is food. I am beyond grateful for all the staff and the peers that were here while I was and there isn’t enough words to express my appreciation for them. Thank you remedy for helping me get my life back

i've been a patient at remedy therapy for a little over three months and i depart tomorrow. remedy is truly a very special place and i am grateful for all of the staff and other patients i have met on the way. i have been to so many treatment centers over the last decade and i will say they truly care about you here. never once have i felt unsafe because of anyone else. i will admit, i have not fully grasped the concept of recovery because i have not been fully ready for it but remedy has still supported me despite that and pushed me past my comfort zones. i had to learn to find comfort in the discomfort. remedy therapy is a place where healing truly begins. i would like to reiterate the fact that they truly care about you here. you are not just a number. amanda and jamie are the best dietitians i have ever worked with and you have amazing techs like ms. patti, jam, and jazz who see this job as more than just a job. i learned a lot about myself here. at remedy therapy, everything is individualized. therefore, they don't just slap a "one-size-fits-all" bandaid on your recovery. if anyone i know is struggling with an eating disorder, this is the place i would 1,000% recommend time and time again. to me, these people have become my recovery family. i've watched so many people come in struggling, myself included, and they walk out a completely different person. don't be afraid to reach out to remedy, they're just a phone call away. #beatingeatingdisorders

Going to Remedy Therapy was best decision I ever made. I went in feeling scared and alone, but left empowered and understood by the community as a whole. The environment was safe and fostered support like I've never seen. Like any treatment center, it had it's difficult moments, but I learned so much from the experience as a whole- not only about myself but compassion for others as well. Leaving my life behind to commit to this program was hard, but so worth it. The house was cozy, the staff was always there to listen and push me in the direction I needed to go, and the people just get you like nobody else. I have nothing but gratitude for Remedy and would highly recommend to anyone looking to make a positive change in their life. Shout-out to Miss Patti for her unwavering love for anyone who is lucky enough to know her.
