Why Clinicians Refer to Us

Specialized Team

Our clinical team is composed of highly trained and deeply experienced professionals who specialize in treating eating disorders and the complex issues that often accompany them. Patients receive care from licensed therapists trained in evidence-based modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) for trauma work when clinically appropriate. Our registered dietitians provide specialized nutritional rehabilitation, while our psychiatric providers oversee diagnostic clarity and medication management. Supported by attentive nursing staff and a small census, each patient receives truly individualized care delivered by a multidisciplinary team that knows them well and works collaboratively to support meaningful, lasting recovery. Residential Treatment Environment

Consistent Communication

We value collaboration and understand how important it is for referring providers to remain connected to their patient’s progress. With patient consent, we proactively share treatment updates, discuss emerging clinical themes, and consult with you around goals and discharge planning. Our team welcomes your insight and perspective, and we consider you an essential partner in supporting long-term recovery. Whether you prefer weekly updates or milestone-based communication, we adjust to your preferences to ensure continuity of care.

Easy Admissions Process

Our admissions process is designed to be simple, clear, and responsive for both professionals and families. We reply quickly to referrals, conduct an efficient clinical review, coordinate directly with the patient and their family, and verify insurance benefits so referring providers don’t need to manage the details. We walk families through each step—from initial contact to arrival—ensuring they feel supported, prepared, and fully informed. Whether a referral is urgent or planned, we streamline everything to make the transition into residential care as smooth as possible.

Medical Stabilization & Ongoing Monitoring

At Remedy Therapy Center for Eating Disorders, medical care is overseen by a highly experienced team led by our Medical Director, Director of Nursing, and a group of nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, and consulting physicians specializing in eating disorders and behavioral health. Our priority is to ensure medical safety, restore physical stability, and support each client’s ability to fully participate in therapeutic treatment.

Getting StartedInitial Medical Evaluation

Every client begins treatment with a comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluation to identify medical risks related to malnutrition, restriction, purging behaviors, dehydration, and electrolyte imbalance.

Our admission assessment includes:

  • \Full vital signs & orthostatic measurements
  • \Height, weight, BMI
  • \12-lead EKG to assess cardiac status using state-of-the-art equipment
  • \Laboratory studies evaluating hydration, electrolytes, liver and kidney function, thyroid health, and key nutritional markers
  • \A complete head-to-toe medical and nursing assessment

This exam is completed by a licensed medical provider—typically an RN, NP, or PA—and reviewed by the Medical Director. A personalized medical plan is created within the first 24 hours of admission to ensure immediate safety and stabilization.

Development of the Medical Plan

Each client’s medical plan is developed collaboratively by our Medical Director, Director of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Dietitian, and Clinical Director. This multidisciplinary process ensures that medical, nutritional, and psychological needs are integrated into one cohesive approach.

Key components include:

  • Safe refeeding and nutritional stabilization protocols to restore metabolic balance
  • Electrolyte monitoring and replacement guided by labs and clinical presentation
  • Cardiac and vital-sign monitoring to identify early signs of instability or refeeding syndrome
  • Individualized, medically safe weight restoration goals
  • Ongoing communication between medical and clinical teams for consistent, coordinated care

Plans are reviewed daily during medical rounds and adjusted based on clinical progress.

Ongoing Medical Management

Once stabilization begins, our medical and nursing teams provide continuous monitoring and compassionate support throughout the client’s stay.

Our approach includes:

  • Multiple daily vital signs and orthostatic checks, depending on acuity
  • Supportive, non-triggering weight checks at clinically appropriate intervals
  • Routine lab work to monitor electrolytes, blood counts, and organ function
  • At least twice-weekly treatment team/medical rounds
  • 24-hour on-site nursing coverage for timely intervention and assessment

Our team is trained in identifying and managing common eating disorder-related complications, including bradycardia, hypotension, refeeding syndrome, osteoporosis, gastroparesis, and more. The Director of Nursing coordinates closely with the Medical Director and Director of Nutrition to ensure care aligns with national standards and best practices.

OurCommitment

Our medical philosophy is rooted in safety, compassion, and collaboration. We believe that medical stabilization is not simply a prerequisite—it is the foundation for meaningful therapeutic, nutritional, and emotional recovery. By restoring physical health and safety first, clients are empowered to fully engage in the deeper healing work ahead.
